Abstract

Currently, where there is a notion to address and strengthen various aspects of the key principle, student-centeredness at Comenius University, there is a development showcasing professionalization of the teaching and learning at the university level. Its primarily focus can be summarized in the following areas: • Introducing various professional development courses for university teachers where there is a strong emphasis on the principles of the student-centered approach, trust, peer learning, internationalization, high standards of assessment forms, etc. • Evidence-based research in professional development which concludes best practices as well as measuring of their impact in teaching and learning environment • Teaching and learning Summer Schools organized at Comenius University by ECPR (European Consortium for Political Research) Short and long-term activities focusing on further development: • Establishing the well-working Centre for support of the university teachers • European Teaching and Learning Conference at Comenius University (16-17th of June 2022) • Supporting internationalization (of the curriculum, of the students and teachers) through the strategic cooperation with partners from other Universities
