The Library can be found on the first floor of the Faculty Tower.

The Library is organised in an open-shelf system and comprises three separate reading halls.  More than 200 seats and some large leather chairs are available throughout the facilities, allowing for both comfortable individual and group study activities.  The special three-floor architectural layout of the library offers readers a unique opportunity to find a study space which supports their study needs and reading styles. Everyone can find a favorite nook, a hideaway seating or a table by the window. The overall feeling of the Library is that of a home library away from home.

You will find plenty of computers in the Library with access to e-resources.  The Library has free Wi-Fi throughout and you can find power outlets in the reading hall.

The opening hours of the Library during the Summer School are:

Study Areas

In addition to the Library, Laptop Areas are available for use by Summer School participants. Free wireless connection (connection details above) is available throughout the building and computers with internet connection can be found in the computer labs (located on the basement floor of the Faculty Tower - see maps).  The computer labs are open: 08:00 - 21:00 on weekdays and 13:00 - 19:00 on weekends. Please note, that when the computer labs are full, priority access should be given to those needing to use the computers for their course. Participants are asked to adopt this code of good conduct, as a courtesy to the other participants.

In addition to the Study Areas, you will find comfortable places to relax – ideal for meeting up with fellow students, and making new friends.
  • Nador u. 9, basement level: the student cafe is an excellent place to catch up with friends or enjoy a debate over a good cup of coffee.
  • Nador u. 9, 2nd floor: this area, located in a spacious hallway, has WiFi coverage and power points for your laptop – a relaxing working environment for you and your colleagues.
  • Student Quiet Lounge, Nador 11, mezzanine: this is CEU's own relaxation space. Its special laidback ambience means you have the perfect opportunity to unwind, meditate, and recharge your spiritual batteries.
  • The Japanese garden and Nador 11 courtyard: these very popular spaces provide room for friendly chat and intellectual debate, as well as good opportunities to meet students from other departments.

  • CIB Bank, Szabadsag ter 15
  • K&H Bank, Arany Janos utca 20
  • OTP Bank Headquarters, Nador utca 16 (on workdays from 08:00 to 16:00)

Smart Hydration on Campus

In accordance with the University's Sustainable Development Policy; water fountains and bottle filling stations are installed in several locations on Campus. The fountains make accessing fresh water more convenient and promote healthy and environmentally conscious water consumption on campus. A number of the machines include a hot water feature as well for preparing hot beverages. Drinking water from these machines as opposed to buying bottled water has many environmental, ecosystem, and health benefits including: energy and overall fresh water consumption reduction, waste reduction, and lessening greenhouse gas emissions.

Fountains are located on each floor of the Faculty Tower and bottle filling stations can be found in the following locations:

  • Nador 11 Entrance Area
  • Monument Building Laptop Area
  • Mezzanine Area Outside of the Library
  • Faculty Tower 4th Floor
  • Oktober 6 Street Number 7 First Floor
