Local Organisers

The local hosts work alongside the ECPR Events Team with the organisation of the Winter School.

Thomas_Saalfeld

Head of Project

Thomas Saalfeld, Convenor of the Bamberg Graduate School of Social Sciences.

Thomas studied political science, modern history and communication studies at Munich University and the University of Hull. He completed his post-graduate studies in political science, modern history and communication studies at Munich University and research and teaching positions at the Universities of the German Federal Armed Forces Munich, Hull, Dresden, Kent and Bamberg. His visiting professorships include Boğazici University Istanbul, Mannheim University and the Institute d’Études Politiques de Lille. Since 2009 he is Professor of Political Science at Bamberg University, and since 2010 he was founding Convenor of the Bamberg Graduate School of Social Sciences (BAGSS). In 2008, Thomas Saalfeld was elected Fellow of the UK Academy of Social Sciences (AcSS).

Simon_Fink

Simon Fink, Assistant Professor.

Simon studied political science, law and psychology at the University of Konstanz. Post-graduate studies in political science at the DFG Research Training Group 'Markets and Social Systems in Europe', University of Bamberg. Habilitation from Bamberg University’s Faculty of Social Sciences, Economics and Business Administration. Research and teaching positons at the Universities of Konstanz, Hanover, Seoul, Göttingen and Bamberg.

Heike Klüver, Convenor of the Department of Political Science (Fachgruppensprecherin).

Heike studied political science and economics at the University of Heidelberg. Post-graduate studies at the Graduate School of Economic and Social Science, University of Mannheim.  Heike Klüver is Professor of Empirical Political Science at the University of Bamberg. Before joining Bamberg, she was working as Junior Professor at the University of Konstanz and as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Nuffield College at the University of Oxford. Further research and teaching at the Universities of Mannheim, Free University of Berlin and Syracuse/ USA.

Florian_Weiler

Florian Weiler, Assistant Professor.

Florain studied political science at the University of Innsbruck and economics at Washington DC University, completing his post-graduate studies in political economy at the Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich. He has held research and teaching positions at the Universities of Zurich, Bamberg as well as at the Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich.

Petra_Fisher

Petra Fischer, Student Assistant.

Petra studied European Studies at Maastricht University and Izmir University of Economics. She is currently studying for a Master's degree at the University of Bamberg in European Economic Studies and works as a student assistant at BAGSS.

Wolfgang_Goldbach

Wolfgang Goldbach, Administrative Coordinator.

Wolfgang completed his studies at Bamberg university and used to be a visiting student at Nanterre as well as used to be a research assistant at the Scottish Parliament. He is at the moment at his post-graduation.

Mirian_Schneider

Miriam Schneider, Managing Director of the Bamberg Graduate School of Social Sciences. 

Miriam studied economics at the University of Kiel after a professional education as an accountant technician going on to co-ordinate for five years, a doctoral programme in economics. Since 2013 she has been administrative Managing Director of the Bamberg Graduate School of Social Sciences.
