Special Offer for Winter School Participants at Youth Hostel 'Am Kaulberg'

The local organising team at the University of Bamberg have secured a special offer with Youth Hostel ‘Am Kaulberg’ for Winter School participants. The Youth Hostel is located in the historic city centre of Bamberg, is above average standard, and most rooms have a direct view of Bamberg Cathedral. The campus is only 20 minutes away by bus; the bus stop is directly in front of the hostel, and the city centre is a five-minute walk away.  The hostel is offering WSMT participants a €5 per night discount off their standard 2015 prices. Due to the University of Bamberg’s membership with the German Youth Hostel Organisation, Winter School participants do not need to be a member to take advantage of this offer. General information, booking terms and conditions

Up to 100 places have been reserved until 31 December 2014. After this date unused places will be released to the general public. Late reservation will be considered only if there is still room available.

Cancellations are possible at no cost up to 31 January 2015. After this date, you will be charged 50% of the original reservation cost.

Multi-bed rooms will be allocated separately for men and women. Couples who would like to share a room should request a double room.

When booking, you have the option to include special requests for your food, e.g. vegetarian meals, allergies, or certain religious constraints for your food.

Full payment must be made upon arrival at the hostel. The hostel accepts cash, ‘EC’ (electronic cash), Visa and MasterCard.

Check-in is between 14:00 to 21:30. On the day of the departure, rooms need to be vacated by 09:30.

Please bring your own towels. Alternatively, you can borrow a set of towels in the hostel for a fee of €1.50 and a deposit of €10.00

Please bring your own toiletries and hair dryer.

Wireless internet is not available in all rooms. On the third floor the connection is too weak. It is however, available in the lounge area. There is also a seminar room on the third floor where you can use the internet via cable.

Upon request, it is possible to use the Youth Hostel’s washing machine and tumble drier. The charge is €3.00 for one cycle of the washing machine including the tumble drier.

The use of the leisure rooms is free of charge, e.g. the table tennis, billiard table or table soccer.

It is not permitted to bring alcohol to the Youth Hostel.

It is not permitted to smoke on the hostel premises; you will have to leave the building/garden.

The whole complex of the Youth Hostel is equipped with a highly sensitive smoke/fire alarm system. It is therefore not permitted to cook meals, use candles or smoke. In case of a negligence resulting in a false alarm call, the guest has to cover the costs of the fire brigade.
