Abstract

The economic and financial crisis has challenged the role of the cities and their political actors. This panel is focused on papers dealing with the strategies followed by the councils, the last reforms on local politics and the new roles of all the political actors, not only the institutional ones, such as mayors, councilors, the state, but also the citizens or the interest groups. Papers on any of these topics will be welcomed. Comparative perspective and qualitative or quantitative studies are especially encouraged.
