The ELTE Centre for Social Sciences is a research institution where 200 Hungarian and international researchers engage in exploratory and innovative national and international research projects in the Social Sciences. Founded by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Centre’s charter established its freedom to research without political influence. Research and teaching at Europa-Universität Flensburg span the educational sciences, economics, humanities, social sciences, technology and the natural sciences, with a focus on teacher education and international management. The research programme of the Department of Political and Social Sciences (SPS) places emphasis on political and social change within Europe at the national, sub-national and transnational level. The research interests of the Department range across the four sub-disciplines of comparative politics, sociology, international relations, and social and political theory. The Department favours a multi-faceted approach to research projects and theses many of which cut across traditional academic boundaries. Courses in both quantitative and qualitative methods are available as options in the first and second year, while field work and data collection normally take place in the second and third year.

The University of Sarajevo is the oldest higher public education institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is committed to remain an autonomous academic community of teachers, researchers, artists, and students incorporated into the international university and academic community and trends. The Faculty of Political Science is an organizational member of the University of Sarajevo, focusing on social sciences and carrying nearly six decades of tradition in academic education, which takes place across five study departments. It has proven strengths in political science, international relations, peace and security studies, sociology, social work, and communication studies and journalism. The faculty offers undergraduate, MA, and interdisciplinary PhD programs. In addition, the faculty participates in joint MA’s programs in political science in partnership with various regional and European universities. The broad thematic focus is balanced by a focused area approach with expertise on Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Balkans region. Scientific research activities are centred around the Institute for Social Science Research, as well as two scientific journals – "Social Studies" and "Sarajevo Social Science Review". The faculty has also experience in implementing several Horizon 2020 projects, ERASMUS exchange programs, and organizing international conferences.

Comenius University Bratislava is a modern European university. It is the only Slovak university to be regularly placed in the international rankings of the best universities in the world. With thirteen faculties, it offers the widest selection of study programmes (currently 731) at three levels, and several of these study programmes are the only ones of their kind offered in Slovakia. There is a wide range of areas of human knowledge to choose from when studying, be it in medicine, humanities and social sciences, natural sciences, mathematics, theology, and much more. Comenius University is a research institution that runs hundreds of domestic and international research projects. As a result, many of the students engage in important research during their studies and can actively participate in projects, grants, and professional internships (including abroad). Every year Comenius University sends the highest number of students abroad out of all Slovak universities, and it receives the most international students, including from such places as Ukraine, Germany, Austria, Norway, Iceland, Iran, and Spain.
