ECPR welcomes new Director Tanja Munro

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Tanja Munro as ECPR Director. Tanja will take up her new role from 1 October 2019, replacing current Director Martin Bull when he completes his term of office on 30 September.

Before joining the ECPR, Tanja was Chief Executive of Phoenix Homes Colchester for two and a half years, and prior to that built up a wealth of experience in the UK Charity sector, with a variety of responsibilities covering events, communications, finance, fundraising and research. She is also a graduate (Masters, International Relations) of the University of Essex.

Tanja describes herself as 'A transformational leader working in the third sector, specialising in relationship management and strategic planning to realise efficient practices that unite people under a common goal.' Tanja therefore has the perfect background to helping the ECPR continue to realise its goals in the challenging times ahead, and the Executive Committee was unanimous in selecting her. Tanja’s appointment marks a change in the post of Director from one based on secondment of an academic from a University to a full-time, permanent position based in Harbour House, Colchester.

Outgoing Director Martin Bull said he warmly welcomed Tanja to the ECPR, and he was sure that she would enjoy working for the ECPR as much as he had done over the past years. Tanja said she is very excited and honoured to be taking up this prestigious position at an important time in ECPR’s development and thanked outgoing Director for his contribution to the ECPR over many years.

Having visited Harbour House in July for a series of transitional meetings, Tanja will start work on 1 September to provide some overlap with the current Director who will remain in authority during her first month, until she starts proper on 1 October. Tanja’s first ECPR event will be the General Conference in Wrocław in September.
