Political Data Yearbook seeks a new editor


About the Yearbook

PDY Political Data YearbookPublished in association with the European Journal of Political Research (EJPR), the Political Data Yearbook (PDY) contains comprehensive, authoritative data and analysis of electoral results, national referenda, changes in government, and institutional reforms for a range of OECD countries. 

Its online version, PDY:Interactive (PDYi) is a unique data source, in a fully searchable and downloadable format, which is freely available to the profession.

PDY is run by a three-person editorial team, two of whom are responsible for the narrative and analysis, and one for the database. We are seeking an editor to take on responsibility for the main text. The successful applicant will receive an annual fee plus a fund for travel expenses incurred in attending journal-related meetings.

You should have

  • strong research background on political parties and governments in Europe and advanced industrial democracies
  • some experience of the international publishing industry, either as an editor or author (ideal, but not essential)
  • high proficiency in written English
  • affiliation with an ECPR Member or Associate Member institution

The role is for six years, starting 1 January 2018. Closing date for applications: Monday 13 November 2017.
