About

Dieter Reinisch a Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Researcher at the Moore Institute and the School of Political Science and Sociology, National University of Ireland, Galway, and an Adjunct Professor in International Relations, Webster Vienna Private University. He holds a PhD in History from the European University Institute in Florence. Before embarking on my PhD project, he studied History at the University of Vienna. In the academic year 2019/20, he held a prestigious research fellowship at the Institute for Advanced Study, Central European University, in Budapest. He was a visiting fellow at several universities, among those are the University of St. Andrews, the National University of Ireland in Galway, and the Ruhr University Bochum. He taught at the University of Vienna and the University of Salzburg. Since 2016, he is an editorial board member of the bi-lingual, open-access journal “Studi irlandesi: A journal of Irish Studies” published by Florence University Press; and his research articles appeared in Critical Studies on Terrorism, War & Society, Irish Political Studies, BIOS, and the International Journal for the History of Sport. He also works as a freelance journalist and his articles appeared among other papers in the Washington Post, Irish Examiner, Belfast Telegraph, Der Standard, RTÉ, ORF, and Die Presse.
