Professor in political science, School of Global Studies, with a demonstrated history of working in various leadership roles. My main research fields are political leadership and state building, international development cooperation, migration policy and practice, as well as Middle Eastern and Israeli politics. My current six-year research project is on cities, local governments and migration policies in a comparative perspective (Jordan, Sweden, and Turkey). I have a long-lasting interest in research ethics and safety and my most recent publication is ”Safer Field Research in the Social Sciences. A Guide to Human and Digital Security in Hostile Environments” (Grimm, J. et al. 2020, SAGE). I am frequently consulted as an expert commentator on Middle Eastern/Israeli politics for radio, TV and the daily press.
