Jules Bakker is a PhD researcher at the Department of Conflict and Development Studies of Ghent University, in joint supervision with the University of Groningen. He holds a research master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Groningen, where he previously worked as a lecturer. His research focuses on the gendered and racialised power/capital behind international development and peacebuilding interventions, with specific focus on the role of gender training, expertise and leadership. His research builds on critical and feminist approaches to the study of international political economy.
