About

Tamara Tubakovic is a Teaching Fellow in Public Policy and European Studies. She was awarded her Ph.D in Political Science in 2021 from the University of Melbourne, Australia. Between 2020 and 2021, she was the Research Coordinator of a Jean Monnet Erasmus+ funded Comparative Network on Refugee Externalisation Policies. Her research focuses on the institutional politics of EU asylum policy reforms; the power of ideas and narratives in shaping government policies on refugee externalisation in Europe and Australia; and the politics of expert knowledge in asylum policymaking. She has published widely on EU, UK, and Australian asylum policy and politics in both academic and policy relevant sources. Tamara has taught widely on EU politics and integration, public policy theory and analysis, crisis management and asylum politics and law. She has undertaken several visiting fellowships, including at the Refugee Studies Centre at the University of Oxford and at the Migration Policy Centre at the European University Institute in Florence.
