Wi-Fi
Usernames and/or passwords to access each University's wifi will be issued at registration for the event. Please be aware that you will need a different connection for each of the University buildings. It will also be possible to connect to the municipal wi-fi free of charge; usernames and/or passwords will also be available upon registration. Please note that connectivity may be poor in some areas of the city.
Water
The University has a no-plastic-bottle policy. Please bring your own bottle and refill it from one of the water suppliers in the University.
Lunches
A limited number of lunches (50) will be available at the canteen of Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna at €10 per person per day. These will be available on a first come first served basis to the first 50 that place their order by way of email to mtaylor@ecpr.eu NO LATER THAN FRIDAY 15 APRIL. You will need to advise what days (Monday 25, Tuesday 26, Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 April) you are looking to book lunch for.
Payment for these orders will then have to be made in cash at the time of onsite registration, where vouchers will be given in exchange for the payment. Any orders for lunches that have been made CANNOT BE CANCELLED. A vegetarian menu will be available if required in addition to the other daily choices. A gazebo will be reserved during the four days of the event for the Joint Sessions participants.
None of the other Universities' canteens/mensas will be open at the time of the Joint Sessions. There are however plenty of cafes/restaurants close to the venues of the Workshops.
National holiday
April 25 is a national holiday in Italy (Liberation Day). Banks and post offices will be closed. Some restaurants, museums, shops and attractions could also be closed or operate shorter opening hours.
Shopping
Most shops are open Monday to Saturday between 08:30 – 13:30 and 15:30 – 19:30 and closed on Sunday.
Using your mobile phone
If you do not turn off your roaming or 3G connection, charges can mount up, depending on whether you have a package that includes Italy.
