The University of Nottingham Local Organising Committee

The local hosts work alongside the ECPR Events Team with the organisation of the Joint Sessions.

 

Mathew Humphrey is Professor of Political Theory at the University of Nottingham, and was Head of the School of Politics and International Relations from 2012-2016. He holds a DPhil from the University of Oxford. His research focuses on environmental politics, spanning democratic theory and the analysis of political ideologies as well. He is a founding Co-director of the interdisciplinary Centre for the Study of Political Ideologies at the University of Nottingham



 

Fernando Casal Bertoa is a Nottingham Research Fellow at the School of Politics and International Relations in the University of Nottingham (United Kingdom). He is also Co-chair of the Council for European Studies’ Research Network on “Political Parties, Party Systems and Elections” as well as Research theme director at the Nottingham Interdisciplinary Centre for Economic and Political Research. After finishing Law (University of Navarra, Spain), Political Science (University of Salamanca, Spain), as well as specializing in Central and Eastern European Studies (Jagiellonian University, Poland), he obtained his PhD in Social and Political Sciences at the European University Institute (Italy). His work has been published in Sociological Methods and Research, Party Politics, Democratization, Government and Opposition, International Political Science Review, South European Society and Politics, or East European Politics.
 

Dr Kyriaki Nanou, holds a PhD in Politics from the University of Essex. She joined the University of Nottingham in 2013 as a Lecturer. She previously held a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Oxford, a Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellowship at the European University Institute in Florence and a Fellowship in European Politics in the Department of Government at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her research interests include comparative politics, including elections and parties within Europe, Euroscepticism, Europeanisation of public policy and politics and the democratic deficit in the EU. Her work has been published in European Journal of Political Research and West European Politics among others.
