The Summer School programme consists of Three-day Short Intensive Refresher courses (15 teaching hours / five hours per day) 28, 29 and 30 July, followed by four types of one-week or two-week courses, as detailed below (15 teaching hours over five days or 30 hours over 10 days) between 1 August and 12 August. Please note, two-week courses have an optional exam for ECTS credits on the morning of Saturday 13 August.
Short Intensive Refresher courses: Intensive Refresher courses offering tools that will be useful for further courses. Typically, software training, before taking a data analysis course.
Main courses
Research design/fundamentals course: An ‘upstream’ course enabling you to think about your research more broadly, so you can make more informed choices about specific methods/techniques.
Data collection/generation course: A hands-on course focused on a specific method (or family of methods) for data collection or generation.
Data analysis course (introductory): A hands-on course focused on a specific method (or family of methods) for data analysis, bringing you to a level of well-informed use.
Data analysis course (advanced): A hands-on course focused on a specific method (or family of methods) for data analysis, bringing you to an expert level, including more recent refinements.

Your payment is due 15 days after the date you register, otherwise your registration may be cancelled and your details removed from the Summer School programme. Registrations after 15 June 2016 will require full payment within 24 hours via credit or debit card from the ECPR website. Your place on the course will not be guaranteed until payment has been received in full. Please allow extra time for this if you are paying by bank transfer. Your payment due date is stated on your invoice, which you can access via your MyECPR account My Invoices. You can also pay directly by credit or debit card directly from the website. Courses are confirmed as soon as there are enough paid participants attending each course and all courses will be confirmed or cancelled no later than 15 June 2016. To assist us with confirming as many courses as soon as we can, please confirm your registration by paying promptly.

Please do not book travel or accommodation until you have been notified by ECPR that your course(s) are confirmed. This happens as soon as the course reaches a sufficient number of registered and paid participants. The deadline for courses to be confirmed is 15 June 2016.
Yes, we will send you a confirmation by email to the email address used for your registration. If you have more than one ECPR profile please make a note of the email address used when logging in to register. It greatly helps the ECPR if you only have one ECPR account.
Registrations closes at midnight UK time on Thursday 30 June 2016. You can still register after 30 June but we cannot guarantee you will be given a place on the course you are interested in as it may be fully booked. Registrations after 30 June 2016 require full payment within 24 hours via credit or debit card through the ECPR website.
Yes. You will be notified on a first come, first served basis if a place becomes available. To be placed on a waiting list, please email methodsschool@ecpr.eu.
Reading material for the course is detailed in the course outline. You may wish to clarify the specifics for your course with your Instructor.
You can change courses if there is a space available but this will incur a €25 administration charge. Changes can only be made by the Summer School co-ordinators, please email methodsschool@ecpr.eu.
Yes. Provided you attend 80% of the course hours, you will be given a certificate of attendance for each course attended. You can collect your certificate on the last day of your course or the certificate will be emailed to you after the Summer School.

Refresher Courses start at 10:00 Thursday 28 July and finish on Saturday 30 July 17:00 and Main Courses finish Friday 5 August or Friday 12 August 17:30. Please note, two-week courses have an optional exam for ECTS credits, on the morning of Saturday 13 August.
A detailed course timetable will be issued in Febraury. Once all of the courses have been confirmed no later than 15 June 2016, the academic timetable will be published, where you can check if your course finishes earlier. Please note, even if Instructors have indicated a time preference in their course outline, the ECPR cannot guarantee courses will take place at these times until the official timetable is published.
The 2016 Summer School will be hosted by the Department of Political Science, Central European University, Nádor utca 9, 1051 Budapest, Hungary. All classes and labs are located at the Department, which is located in the centre of the city.
