Elena Aoun is an Assistant Professor in International Relations at the Université catholique de Louvain (Mons Campus). She holds a PhD from Science Po Paris and has spent two years as a post-doctoral researcher at the Institute for European Studies at the University of Montreal and McGill University. Her main research interests revolve around EU foreign policy, the conflicts and crises in the Middle East and the EU involvement in that region. She has also worked and written on security issues, the Arab-Israeli conflict and international criminal justice. Elena Aoun is member of the GERMAC (Study and research group on the Contemporary Arab World), a group within the CECRI (Center for the study of international crises and conflicts).
