The Summer School will take place at the largest research institute of its kind in Europe! The Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR), located on the Roeterseiland Campus, is also among the largest worldwide. The address is as follows:

With fantastic surroundings, interaction with the city is an inseparable part of academic life. Collaboration in many forms between the faculties and society has become self-evident. The campus is the home base for students, employees, residents and entrepreneurs from the city and they are very excited to host the participants of the Political Communications Summer School. There are cozy cafés, libraries, labs, lecture halls and a large diversity of study and workplaces.

Based within a very lively student area, the campus is within approximately a 20-minute walk of the city centre and is very well connected to other areas of Amsterdam by public transport for those who want to explore. The campus has bike storage so if you want to rent a bike for your week at the Summer School, you can cycle to the campus and store your bike safely.
ASCoR is a 20-minute drive from Amsterdam Central train station. There are trains from Amsterdam Aiport Schiphol to Amsterdam Central every 10 minutes. For more information on Amsterdam Central train station and services, click here.
The nearest airport (Amsterdam Aiport Schipol) is located in Schipol, around 20km from ASCoR. This is an international airport with a railway station and bus links. Find more information on the airport website.
Amsterdam has many attractions that are a must see when visiting but you will be pleased to know there are many at your fingertips when you step off campus!
This zoo and botanical garden is in the centre of Amsterdam. It is the oldest zoo in the Netherlands and fifth oldest zoo in the world. In addition to the zoo, Artis also contains an aquarium, a planetarium, an arboretum, Micropia, and the Groote Museum. This is a 5 minute walk from Roeterseiland Campus.
Just a stones throw away from campus, so if you fancy a chilled evening watching a performance, this is the place to go. The Kriterion is known as an international art-house movie theatre that was founded by students in 1945.
From Anne Franks House to the Van Gough Museum, there is something for everyone across over 20 museums spread throughout the city centre.
