Getting to Palazzo Pedagaggi

Option 1: ALIBUS (Airport Shuttle Bus)

  • Service: ALIBUS connects Catania Fontanarossa Airport with the city center (Duomo, Via Etnea and Piazza Stesicoro), Catania Centrale train station, and the University.
  • Frequency: Every 25 minutes, from early morning (4:40 am) to late evening (until 00:30).
  • Ticket Price: €4.00.
  • Where to Find It: Upon exiting the airport, turn left to find the ALIBUS stop.

Stop for University / Conference Venue:
Ask the driver for the "Archi della Marina / Via Dusmet" stop (approximately 12 minutes from the airport).From There:

  • Cross the street to your left.
  • Walk straight for 500 meters.
  • Ticket Price: €4.00.
  • You will reach Palazzo Pedagaggi (Via Vittorio Emanuele II, No. 49) — the main building of the University’s Department of Political and Social Sciences.

Option 2: Taxi

  • Fare: €25.00 – €30.00 (Always agree on the price before entering).
  • Taxi Stand (more expensive): Available directly outside the airport.
  • Taxi Booking beforehand (€20-22): Call Radio Taxi Catania at: 095 8833.

Getting around

Plan your visit by train from the Catania Central station: Trenitalia

Catania’s public transport system includes both city buses and a metro line.

  • Bus and Metro Ticket: €1.40. Valid for 90 minutes, regardless of number of buses taken.

Metro Information:

  • Line: Single metro line between Nesima and Stesicoro.
  • Service Hours: Monday to Sunday, 7:00 am – 22:30 pm (Friday and Saturday until 1 am).
  • Approx. every 10 minutes in both directions.
