Montreal is very safe for pedestrians, but if you want to travel further than you can walk, public transport is fast and convenient. The Metro (underground train) typically operates between 05:30 and 01:00. The 747 Express Bus serves the airport. A one-way fare card, valid for 24 hours, costs $10.

Bus 165 Northbound from Guy Concordia metro station (Green line) to Côte-des-Neiges metro station. Stop: corner of Chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges and Jean-Brillant Street.
Bus 435 Express du Parc from Guy Concordia metro station to Côte-des-Neiges metro station. Rush hours only. Same stop as Bus 165.
Bus 51 Westbound from Laurier metro station (Orange line) to 3200 Jean-Brillant. Stop: corner of Jean‑Brillant and Decelles Streets.
From Montreal Bus Station to Côte-des-Neiges metro, take the Orange line at Berri-UQAM metro (direction Montmorency) to Jean-Talon Station. Then take the Blue line (direction Snowdon) to Côte-des-Neiges.

To get to Montréal-Trudeau, either take the Express shuttle from Downtown or Bus 747 from the terminal near Berri UQAM, which runs 24/7. Travel time 45 – 60 minutes, traffic depending.
Taxis are available outside hotels, but it’s easier to flag one down on the street. A trip from the airport to downtown Montreal costs a flat $40.
Montrealers are avid cyclists, and proud of it. The city has 350 kilometres of bike paths criss-crossing its territory, including natural parks and suburbs. Bixi bikes – a public bike-sharing system – are a great way to get around. 24 hours’ hire costs $7. Be careful not to use the bike for more than 30 minutes at a time, or you’ll get charged extra.
