Abstract

In light of the current Covid-19 pandemic, this panel combines research on administrative crisis management from an organizational and societal perspective. Crises challenge the socio-political system and require an effective and efficient administration, able to respond with flexible coping mechanisms, organizational capacity, structures, and so on. This panel examines causes and consequences for the observed variation in crisis management. While a focus is put on the Covid-19 pandemic, other crises can also be of relevance for the panel. Papers can address administrative crisis management at an individual or organizational level. Research focusing on societal effects and perceptions is also welcome.
