Abstract

The dynamics of globalisation seemingly weaken the redistributional capacity of states. At the same time, welfare policies also constitute primary instruments for addressing the social fallout of economic liberalisation and growing global interdependencies. In this panel, papers address how liberalisation, modernization, migration and international policy trends impact on the contentious politics of social policies.
