Abstract

This panel explores parties’ representative role with a special emphasis on political preferences and how these may be expressed differently via speech or the act of voting. Using speech data such as legislative debates or twitter interactions, content analysis and interviews, the authors advance discussions about substantive representation, legislative behavior, polarized rhetoric and mobilization strategies, and discursive politicization of capital flow management.
