Abstract

Populism is an important feature of both challenger parties and movements. Focusing on how actors from the right to the left use populist elements in their rhetoric, the papers presented in this panel rely on a variety of methodological approaches, analyzing speeches, social media data, and survey data. In doing so, the papers provide novel insights on how to understand populism as key ideological element of contemporary politics.
