Abstract

This panel covers topics ranging from citizen representation to participation, and looks at how they are involved in policymaking through consultation processes. To what extent are they involved in policy-making? And are they able to voice their interests? Are policymakers open to their ideas? And what do citizens actually think of lobbying? Do citizens find lobbying legitimate or does it increase distrust in the political institutions? These questions are addressed through various forms of research in different contexts.
