Abstract

Technology and innovation may be both an objective and a challenge to regulation. On the one hand, regulation should be designed so as to encourage innovation and technological development. On the other, innovations also fosters new economic activities that escape existing regulation, while requiring the adaptation or expansion of existing regulatory frameworks. This panel explores the different challenges characterizing the relationship between regulation on the one hand, and technology and innovation on the other.
