Abstract

Digital media had a critical role during the Covid-19 pandemic, also with regard to contentious politics. This panel reflects on how digital media, including social media platforms, became spaces of harsh contention across the whole political spectrum. It does so through papers that present original empirical research considering various types of digital media in both democratic systems and hybrid regimes.
