Abstract

In recent years, stakeholder involvement in environmental decision-making, including especially that of citizens and grassroots movements, is increasingly emphasized as means to create the necessary support and mobilisation for the systems transitions that are required. It is also highlighted as way to tie in ambitious climate agendas with climate justice. New ways of involvement are being tested, such as citizens’ juries. To what extent and in what ways such involvement and participation are effective is under ongoing research, which the papers of this panel engage in.
