Climate change is a pressing global issue that requires action from individuals, governments, and international organizations. However, public opinion on climate change varies widely, and there are significant differences in awareness, concern, and willingness to take action across different social groups and geographical regions. This panel examines the complex relationship between public opinion and climate change. The papers use experiments and large-N surveys to investigate different ways in which public opinion on climate change can be influenced and, vice-versa, how climate change can influence citizen’s views of aspects like democracy. By engaging in these discussions, the panel aims to deepen our understanding of the complex interplay between public opinion, climate change, and a broader socio-political as well as ecological change.
