Abstract

The debate over the character, origin and even the existence of a democratic deficit in the European Union have been of a focus of EU studies since the 1990s. This panel explores diverse aspects of EU governance with papers focusing on the interaction between decision making processes, multi-level engagement and the democratic quality of EU governance.
