This panel explores critical issues in international relations, spanning refugee women's agency in decision-making to the geopolitical implications of sexual politics and anti-genderism. The panel addresses the role of women in diplomacy as well as the gendered politics of the dominant discourses on terrorism. In exploring cases from various regions of the world, the panel touches on the pockets of resistance to hegemonic and patriarchal politics and practices in Europe and beyond. Each paper contributes a unique perspective, collectively enhancing our understanding of diverse global challenges and the agency of otherwise side-lined and marginalized actors.
