Spaces of Feminist Resistance and Transformation

Abstract

This panel delves into multifaceted dimensions of feminist resistance and transformation across diverse geopolitical landscapes and spaces. Through four distinctive papers, it seeks to understand women’s complex role at peace negotiations and at the ‘peace table’, explore the potential of feminist decolonial engagement in reshaping public spaces, as well as the gendered, embodied experiences of violence and resistance in militarized landscapes across Colombia, India, and Myanmar. Each paper sheds light on gendered experiences, power dynamics, and the transformative potential of feminist interventions in these complex contexts. Together, these papers offer rich insights into the complex interplay of gender, power, and resistance in various global challenges, contributing to a deeper understanding of feminist perspectives and interventions in diverse contexts.
