Environmental policy in the EU

Abstract

Climate change, sustainability and biodiversity have been central priorities in EU policy-making over the past years. Still, progress towards more sustainable policies has been slow and initiatives have sometimes been subject to intense controversy. The way environmental policies are made is key to their effectiveness and legitimacy. This panel includes a set of papers that focus on the policy-making dynamics around EU environmental policy, thereby contributing to a better understanding of what drives (successful) EU environmental policies.
