Abstract

The papers in this panel analyse the European Parliament from different perspectives. Some papers look at the EP as an institution, analysing its involvement in international agreements, the EP’s role as a human-right champion, or its influence on the EU’s responses to the war in Ukraine. Other papers look at the Members of the EP, either in general by analysing issue competition and agenda setting processes, or by focusing on some key actors such as the rapporteurs and examining the drivers of their behaviour in inter-institutional relations.
