Abstract

This panel assesses economic responses to the multitude of crises that the European Union has been experiencing over the past decade. Irrespective of the concrete policy area affected, the economic dimension of each crisis - its direct impact, implications, and further consequences - has been key. The individual papers cover policy areas as diverse as the EU's monetary union, health policy, economic governance, cyber security, and digital infrastructure. The papers also cover different actors within the EU's multi-level system of governance, from the European Commission to intergovernmental bodies, to individual member states and their national administrations.
