Abstract

Gender mainstreaming has been a relevant EU practice for quite some time with a number of recent developments, for instance, in EU budgeting for gender mainstreaming. While policies around child safety and care work increased in both attention and policy development, topics like the gender pay gap differ significantly between EU member states, and again others like refugee policies characterized by the discrepancy between policy and practice. With the renewed focus of the EU on gender mainstreaming, these developments, as well as their successes and shortcomings, will be discussed in this panel.
