Abstract

This panel explores the dynamic interplay between women's and LGBTQIA+ movements and institutions, spotlighting women's influential role in shaping laws, policies and influence in the public sphere. We will examine case studies from different countries in Latin America, analyzing how grassroots movements centered in gender rights driven legislative, institutional and political change. The panel aims to provide insights into the power dynamics between gender-rights activisms by exploring strategies, challenges faced, and the transformative outcomes achieved. Furthermore, this panel also covers the trajectories of movements and how their structure and strategies are transformed to reshape their relations with institutions and governments.
