Abstract

Whether, how, and under which conditions family policies diminish or exacerbate gender equality is a longstanding question in welfare state research. This panel tackles these questions by focusing on the political and ideational causes of family policy changes, while also taking into account the gendered implications of policy changes. Contributions employ different methodologies and include single country cases and comparative approaches.
