Abstract

This panel delves into the multifaceted process of European society-building, focusing on the intersection of theoretical frameworks and qualitative methodologies. As European societies continue to evolve amidst shifting political, economic, and cultural landscapes, understanding the underlying dynamics and tensions of European society-building becomes paramount. The panelists will address different theoretical agendas that shape contemporary discourses on European identity, integration, governance, and social cohesion. Moreover, they will explore the role of qualitative approaches in unraveling the complexities inherent in this process, highlighting the narratives, experiences, and various socio-cultural expressions underpinning European society-building. Combining insightful theoretical discussions with empirical case studies on different aspects of Europeanization, this panel aims to provide an insight on current debates and research agendas of contemporary sociological EU studies.
