Abstract

This panel emphasises the collective focus on the role of local authorities in ensuring inclusion, tackling social inequalities and addressing various challenges related to energy poverty, food security, transparency and regulatory boundaries. The panel explores the different facets of local governments' contribution to social justice and equality. It explores the different ways in which local authorities address and contribute to societal challenges, with a focus on inclusivity, gender equity, food security, transparency and overcoming regulatory constraints. The panel contributes to a nuanced understanding of the multiple roles that local governments play in promoting equitable and inclusive communities.
