Abstract

Lobbying often carries a negative connotation, and the concept of 'responsible' lobbying is increasingly concerning for practitioners. This panel addresses various aspects related to responsible lobbying, including the issue of lobbyists' reputation, the role of private associations in promoting the professionalization of the industry, benchmarks for responsible lobbying, the culture of 'policy expertise,' and the values associated with it, as well as interest groups' responsibility in formulating ‘authentic’ policy frames.
