Abstract

The rise of post-truth politics has highlighted the contestations and limits of traditional scientific expertise. This panel will explore a crucial question: what (if anything) has replaced scientific expertise as a source of epistemic authority in policy and politics? By exploring case studies from a variety of fields, this panel aims to map the 'evidence horizon' and the new roles of scientific expertise.
