Abstract

Papers in this panel contribute to studies on social group representation, especially of women and citizens issued from migration. Papers discuss various obstacles to women's descriptive and substantive representation, such as gendered patterns of legislative oversight, gendered gaps in perceived political efficacy, centralization and party selection processes. Attention is also given to power inequalities in public discourse, and self-identification processes.
