Abstract

Speaker: Jale Tosun, Heidelberg University Chairs: Johanna Kuenzler, Deutsche Hochschule für Verwaltungswissenschaften Speyer Johanna Hornung , Universität Bern Karin Ingold, Universität Bern Vilém Novotny, Charles University The European Green Deal embraces participatory governance and has even created a new format for it: climate pact ambassadors (CPAs). CPAs either act on their own behalf or represent organizations that have made a publicly accessible pledge. They are expected to provide information on and support for climate action, as well as ‘inspire’ others in their networks and communities. What strategies do CPAs embrace in order to deliver on their mandate? Do they engage in policy advocacy or focus rather on other activities? These are the two questions that guide this analysis based on original survey data.
