Abstract

International politics is currently shaped by multiple overlapping crises, including unchecked climate change, the rise of authoritarian regimes and coalitions, and persistent global inequality. These challenges threaten the stability of the existing international order and raise fundamental questions about its resilience, legitimacy, and future direction. This panel examines how these crises are reshaping global governance, the role of states, and the normative foundations of international cooperation. How are different actors—states, international organizations, and transnational movements—responding? What theoretical frameworks help us understand these transformations? By bringing together diverse perspectives, this panel aims to advance critical debates on crisis, power, and order in international political theory.
