Abstract

This panel delves into the intricate ways in which territorial identities are formed, contested, and redefined in response to regional, national, and supra-national dynamics. By examining the interplay between regional attachments, cultural affiliations, and political narratives, the papers investigate the role of historical ties, linguistic communities, and territorial borders in shaping identity. From regions with shared cultural traits to the discursive construction of national and subnational narratives, these studies highlight the evolving nature of territorial belonging in a changing political landscape. The panel also explores how collective identity can be reimagined in times of crisis and social solidarity.
