Abstract

This panel examines the intersection of gender and political violence, focusing on how gender dynamics shape both the experience and perpetration of violence in political contexts. From the use of sexual violence as a tool of war to the gendered targeting of activists and politicians, the discussion will explore how women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and gender minorities face distinct forms of violence in political struggles. Experts will analyze the social, cultural, and institutional factors that exacerbate gendered violence, as well as the efforts to address and mitigate its impact.
