Abstract

This panel investigates the ideologies, strategies, and societal impacts of radical right movements and parties across varied political and cultural contexts. The papers explore how the radical right constructs narratives of identity, belonging, and threat, and how these narratives are mobilised through political discourse, media, and institutional engagement. Topics include the role of gender and masculinity in radical right ideology, the use of conspiracy theories and anti-elitist rhetoric, and the transnational diffusion of radical right ideas. By combining theoretical insights with empirical case studies, the panel offers a comprehensive examination of the radical right’s growing influence and the challenges it poses to liberal democratic norms and institutions.
