Policy Challenges

Abstract

Policy challenges in feminist governance include the identity of policy actors, unfavourable policy environments and the crossing of boundaries between public and private. This panel covers such policy challenges both in European nation states and in non-European comparators. It includes papers on the mainstreaming or otherwise of single parent policy in European countries; the attempted regulation of the minimum weight of fashion models in France; policy promoting care-oriented masculinity in Spain; participation of lesbian women in gender equality policy-making in Brazil; and policy to address unequal access to agricultural land in Europe and Australia (the ‘grass ceiling’).
