Abstract

This panel examines how states and religious minorities shape the governance of religious diversity. It focuses on interactions between state institutions, legal frameworks, and minority actors, including forms of accommodation, regulation, and contestation such as Sharia councils and other faith-based governance arrangements. It further considers how societal attitudes may influence these governance processes.
