Doing Peace and Conflict Research in Turbulent Times

Abstract

Paradigms of peace and conflict are today in flux. This seminar explores what this transformation means for the very practice of research in peace and conflict studies. What does the emerging peace landscape look like? What are the main trends in contemporary peacemaking, and what are their implications for the study of peace and conflict? How is critical peace scholarship engaging with contemporary theoretical debates—from post-humanisms and new materialisms to indigeneity, pluriversal IR, and the negative turn? Following the inaugural conversation in February, we continue the discussion by reconvening leading thinkers in peace and conflict studies.
